Dr. Coleman is a distinguished academic leader and scholar who joined Adler University as
President on September 1, 2024. She brings a deep commitment to higher education,
public health, and transformational leadership to her role.
Before joining Adler, Dr. Coleman held several senior leadership positions, including
serving as New York University’s inaugural senior vice president for global inclusion and
strategic innovation, Harvard University’s special assistant to the president and chief
diversity officer, a grants officer at Merrill Lynch Inc., and a senior researcher at the AAMC.
Through her work, she and her teams have been recognized for pioneering contributions at
the intersection of technology and art, access and disability, climate research, and global
partnership development.
Since her arrival, Dr. Coleman has worked to strengthen institutional alignment, expand
global and community partnerships, and lead a reimagining of Adler’s shared governance
models and program offerings. Her collaborations include formal partnerships with
Fulbright Canada, the First Nations Health Authority, YWCA Metro Vancouver, and several
academic institutions.
Now in her second year, she is leading an institutional transformation rooted in Adlerian
principles of community, partnership, and the urgent global need to expand access to
mental health care. Dr. Coleman remains committed to educating action-driven leaders
who will transform complex systems of public health and well-being, as Adler prepares to
celebrate 75 years of graduates in 2027-28.
