As Interim Executive Director of Vancity Community Foundation (VCF), Irene provides leadership across the Foundation’s work to mobilize capital, partnerships, and programs in support of community impact, in collaboration with Vancity Credit Union. She also oversees VCF’s impact investing and social finance initiatives, including the Vancity Affordable Community Housing Program and Accelerator Fund, which delivers catalytic capital to support the pre-construction phases of community-owned housing development and acquisition projects. Irene has over 25 years of experience leading and investing in non-profit and community economic development initiatives, particularly related to social enterprise, housing, social purpose real estate, and social finance tools and programs. Irene has a BComm from the University of Saskatchewan and an MSc in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph, and lives in North Vancouver with her husband, two children, and dog Kevin.
