I am Bahara Ahmadi an 18 year old girl from Afghanistan. In 2021, I was barred from my right to education as Taliban took over Afghanistan. However, I refused to remain uneducated. Therefore, I started to learn English, participated in online programs, and volunteered with online non profits to share my knowledge with other girls in Afghanistan who did not have the opportunity to pursue their education online. In 2024, I was awarded a fully funded scholarship from St. Margaret’s School in Victoria through Women Leaders of Tomorrow, which is a non profit organization based in Vancouver that supports Afghan girls education abroad. I was selected as one of the four scholars out of a pool of over 1800 students who applied from across Afghanistan. Now, as an ambassador for Women Leaders of Tomorrow, I am dedicated to advocate for girls’ right to education and contribute to make a positive change.
