Bill Cunningham

Bill Cunningham is Executive Vice President, Business & Commercial Banking for Vancity.  Originally from Edmonton, he has a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Alberta, and a Masters of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.  His extensive community involvement includes Past Chair of the Centre for Digital Media / Great Northern Way Campus Trust and Chair Emeritus of Simon Fraser University Board of Governors.  He is also a former Chair of the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association and has served on a variety of community boards including Burnaby Minor Hockey Association, Emily Carr University Board of Governors, Down Syndrome Resource Foundation, Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres, Simon Fraser University Alumni Association and the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.  Bill has worked in Business Banking in the Lower Mainland for 30 years, and he and his wife are devoted hockey parents to their two energetic boys spending countless hours at rinks throughout the Greater Vancouver region and he has been the Coordinator of the First Shift hockey program on behalf of Burnaby Minor Hockey for the past decade.   In 2012, Bill was recognized with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service, and in 2019 was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Service Award from Simon Fraser University.
