Brandon Letsinger is a bioregional organizer working to reconnect communities with the landscapes that sustain them. He serves as Executive Director of the Department of Bioregion, a Washington-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and as co-administrator of Regenerate Cascadia, an initiative building regenerative capacity across the Cascadia bioregion, which spans the United States and Canada from British Columbia through Washington and Oregon. He is also a core organizer of the eleventh Turtle Island Bioregional Congress, convening in Oregon in September 2026, continuing a long-running tradition of gatherings that connect bioregional practitioners across the continent. Brandon has helped launch and lead Cascadia organizations and projects for more than two decades. He founded CascadiaNow! in 2004, served on the board of the first Cascadia Poetry Festival at Seattle University, helped the Cascadia Association Football Federation send a 31-person team to London to compete in the CONIFA World Cup, and is co-producer of the Cascadia NW Arts and Music Festival. His work has been featured in Time, Vice, USA Today, The Atlantic, NPR, the BBC, National Journal, The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, along with numerous local newspapers and radio segments. At the Victoria Forum, Brandon brings a practitioner’s perspective on the Forum’s central themes of trust, inclusion, and economic, social, and ecological wellbeing. His work demonstrates how bioregional organizing can rebuild trust in institutions from the ground up, include communities too often left out of environmental decisions, and align economic and ecological wellbeing at the scale of the watershed. He invites participants to consider what it might mean, in his words, to “come home to your bioregion.”
