Dallas is an award-winning economic development practitioner and policy-maker. He’s worked in places large and small across Canada and beyond, but has spent the last 15 years here in the Greater Victoria region where he helped create the South Island Prosperity Partnership, which launched in 2016 as Greater Victoria’s public, private & third-sector economic development alliance of 29 partner organizations. SIPP has since expanded to 75 partner organizations and operates several subsidiary mandates (such as the Centre for Ocean Applied Sustainable Technologies-COAST & the Indigenous Prosperity Centre). Dallas has been working with Shorefast over the last several years to help champion place-centric approaches to economic sovereignty. His emphasis is on the collaborative architectures – from processes to formal governance structures – that enable local solutions at the right scale.
