Dr. Darcy Riddell has worked to advance land justice and protect nature for several decades with environmental initiatives, capacity-building organizations, philanthropy and Indigenous-led organizations, and is a core member of the startup team of RAD Network (Restore, Assert, Defend). Her work as Strategy and Partnerships Director is focused on creating Indigenous-led nature finance pathways that lead to meaningful ecological and cultural outcomes and land back. Darcy is a contributing author on the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Transformative Change Assessment. Her work is inspired by early involvement in ground-breaking rainforest conservation markets campaigns and planning processes that led to the Great Bear Rainforest Agreements, which enshrined First Nations governance, protected areas and ecosystem-based management in 6.4 million hectares of the Pacific coast.
