Dr. Bansal is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School at Western University (Ontario). She holds three honorary doctorates (Hamburg, Montreal, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam). Bansal founded and continues to lead Innovation North, which brings systems innovation to corporations. She also founded the Network for Business Sustainability(nbs.net) and Ivey’s Centre for Building Sustainable Value, each of which is seeking to transform the landscape of research and practice for business sustainability in Canada. Bansal Chaired the CCA Expert Panel on the Circular Economy and several projects on the circular economy for the Canadian Standards Association. She researches the nexus of time (short-termism), space (globalization) and scale (size) in business strategy, in order to advance sustainable development. She has been researching business sustainability since she completed her doctorate in 1996 at the University of Oxford.
