Born and raised in Chief Drygeese Territory in the subarctic, Elodie Scott has grown up in one of the ground zeros of climate change. Summers of smoke and fire quickly made clear the health impacts of our rapidly changing world. In 2023, along with 70% of the population of the territory, Elodie lived as a person displaced from wildfires for 3 weeks. A dancer from infancy, she has long harnessed the wisdom of the little piece of nature we each walk around in every day—our body—to help process emotions and express feelings. Elodie is increasingly interested in the potential of dance, theatre and other art forms to help us cope with the unstable moment we’re in by using the power of emotions and community to share the world, unlock creativity, and bring solutions to life.
