Ian Bird became CEO of the Victoria Foundation in 2026, returning to Canada’s West Coast after a distinguished career in community philanthropy. He previously led Community Foundations Australia and Community Foundations of Canada, and served as Chair of the Global Fund for Community Foundations. A recognized leader in collective action and community development, Ian is also a two-time Olympian in field hockey, having represented Canada at the 1988 and 2000 Olympic Games.
