Julie-Ann Hunter

Julie-Ann Hunter is the Executive Director of the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society
(VYES), where she leads an organization that supports more than 1,000 youth and families
each year through a continuum of prevention, early intervention, housing, mental health,
family support, and crisis services. A Registered Social Worker with an MBA specializing in
Social Enterprise, Julie-Ann brings more than two decades of experience working alongside
young people, families, and community partners to strengthen outcomes for youth. She is
passionate about building systems that respond to young people's needs before they
become crises, recognizing that investing in youth is fundamental to creating healthy,
resilient communities. In addition to her role at VYES, Julie-Ann serves as Co-Chair of the
Collaborative to Prevent Youth Homelessness, where she works with cross-sector partners
to advance regional strategies that prevent youth homelessness and improve long-term
outcomes for young people across the Capital Region.
