Koda Tootoosis

Koda Tootoosis is a university student and community leader from Wahpeton Dakota Nation,
having recently completed a combined degree in Business and Computer Science at the
University of British Columbia.


As Co-Chair of the Indigenous Student Committee, Koda led the establishment of Canada’s First
Indigenous Student Society Constituency at UBC, authoring its constitution and advocating its
creation through a university-wide referendum. He has also served as a Student Councillor
within the Alma Mater Society, representing more than 60,000 students and contributing to
policy and goverance discussions.


Guided by the teachings of knowledge keepers, family and community, Koda is committed to
Indigenous self-determination. He is focused on solutions that bridge community, culture and
business to advance Indigenous heritage and create new economic pathways.
