Madelyn Rawlyk is a climate and sustainable development professional specializing in climate
policy, nature-based solutions, and climate finance. Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she
currently supports the United Nations Development Programme in Viet Nam, contributing to
initiatives on ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and climate finance. Beyond Viet Nam,
Madelyn proudly represented Canada on the international stage at the G20 Youth Summit in
South Africa (2025), where she advocated for inclusive social development. Madelyn holds a
Master’s degree in Global Governance from the Balsillie School of International Affairs,
University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of
Saskatchewan. Her research, published in Sustainability Science, explores climate change
communication in Western Canada and strategies for effective climate dialogues. Broadly, she
is fascinated by the role of the private sector in environmental governance and is committed to
advancing just, inclusive climate solutions. Despite spending much of her professional career
abroad, Madelyn is deeply proud of her Ukrainian heritage and prairie roots, crediting the
landscape of Saskatchewan for shaping her love of nature.
