Marc Edge

Marc Edge is the author of eight books, most recently Tomorrow’s News: How to Fix Canada’s Media (2024) and The Postmedia Effect: How Vulture Capitalism is Wrecking Our News (2023). His 2007 book Asper Nation was called “a must read for anyone who aspires to active and informed Canadian citizenship” by a reviewer for the Globe and Mail and was shortlisted for the Gertrude Robinson Book Prize of the Canadian Communication Association.

His 2016 book The News We Deserve was described by the Georgia Straight as “incendiary and subversive research.” Before studying for his Ph.D. in Mass Communication at Ohio University, Marc was a journalist for twenty years at the Calgary Herald, where he was Financial Pages Editor, and the Vancouver Province, where he spent ten years as B.C. Supreme Court Reporter. He is also media columnist for Canadian Dimension.
