Marie Studer, Ph.D. serves as POWER’s Director of Partnerships and Operations, as well as a Senior Advisor for the Planetary Health Alliance (PHA) and the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health (JHIPH). She is an executive leader with more than 30 years of scientific and education program and operational experience delivering results for mission-oriented non-profit organizations and multi-institutional consortia working at the intersection of community development and environmental advocacy. She has held positions as the Executive Director of PHA and JHIPH, Staff Scientist for the Massachusetts Bays National Estuary Program, Chief Scientist for Earthwatch Institute, and Director of Learning + Education for the Encyclopedia of Life. She serves on several boards and committees for organizations that foster awareness and action of the Planetary Health framework to address the Earth crisis and catalyze transformative opportunities through policy, practice, and movement building to achieve a wellbeing society where all life can thrive.
She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Boston in Environmental Sciences and a B.A. in Chemistry from Wheaton College.
