Matt Vickers is an accomplished Indigenous business leader, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker with over 44 years of experience driving excellence across the technology, management consulting, and First Nations artwork sectors. Honored with two Honorary Doctorate Degrees for his profound commitment to workplace diversity, Dr. Vickers currently serves as the Co-Chair for Honouring Nations Canada and is the owner of Vickers & Associates management and financial consultancy. His executive leadership includes roles as Partner & CEO of Generating for 7 Generations, a $27 billion rail project, and former Provincial Director of Aboriginal Services and Partner at Meyers Norris Penny. A pioneer in corporate Indigenous engagement, he also previously developed RBC’s Aboriginal Banking program and has served on the advisory boards of Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia.
As a highly sought-after speaker and facilitator, Dr. Vickers has delivered impactful presentations to prominent corporate, governmental, and community organizations globally, focusing on team dynamics, goal setting, conflict resolution, and building trusted business relationships. Of Heiltsuk, Tsimshian, Haida, and English descent, Dr. Vickers resides on shishalh Nation lands in Sechelt, B.C., alongside his wife, Paiman. He is a dedicated family man, proud father of six, and grandfather of four, committed to creating an enduring cultural and professional legacy.
