Michael Coteau 

Michael Coteau is the Member of Parliament for Scarborough—Woburn. He was first elected to Parliament in 2021 as the Member of Parliament for Don Valley East.
 
In Parliament, Michael serves as Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food. He is also Co-Chair of Canada’s Parliamentary Black Caucus, Chair of the Ontario Liberal Caucus, and Co-Chair of the Canada-Africa Parliamentary Association.
 
Prior to entering federal politics, Michael served for a decade as a Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario from 2011 to 2021. During his time at Queen’s Park, he held several cabinet positions and served in a range of senior government roles.
 
Michael began his career in elected public service at the Toronto District School Board, where he was elected as a school board trustee in 2003 and subsequently re-elected in 2006 and 2010.
