Mitzie Hunter is a community leader guided by inclusion, purpose, and social impact.
Her 30-year career has spanned the private and non-profit sectors, and government,
with a longstanding focus on building stronger, more equitable communities. Mitzie’s
expertise in building neighbourhoods, cities, and communities — and the inclusive
infrastructure, programs, and economics that support them — has been applied to her
career as a non-profit leader, an Ontario MPP for ten years, and currently, as
President and CEO of the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Mitzie was the first Black
woman to serve as Ontario’s Minister of Education. Mitzie holds an Executive MBA
from the University of Toronto, and currently serves on the boards of Fidelity Canada,
The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.
