Philip Calvert is a former Canadian diplomat and Senior Research Associate with the Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria. During his thirty-four year career he had three postings to Beijing, served as Director General for North Asia in GAC, and from 2012 to 2016 was Canada’s ambassador to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.
