Raymond Aoki is the Treasurer of the University of Victoria (“UVic”) and the University of Victoria Foundation (“UVic Foundation”). His main investment-related responsibilities include providing recommendations to committees and boards with respect to asset allocation and financial management, overseeing the execution of investment policies & responsible investment policies for various funds, and leading the Treasury & Risk Management team at UVic. Raymond is also responsible for overseeing the relationships and communicating current strategies with service providers, including investment managers and consultants, for its various funds.
Prior to joining UVic & the UVic Foundation in August 2023, he held numerous roles in the investment industry since 1998 with institutional investment consulting organizations, discretionary investment management firms, and private wealth managers. Since 2012, he has primarily worked with institutional investors in developing investment strategies, monitoring portfolios, and collaborating & communicating with colleagues, members of the investment community, and the investing public.
Raymond holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation issued by the Canadian Securities Institute and holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics degree from the University of British Columbia.
