Selena Zhang

Selena Zhang is Executive Officer of Advocacy and Engagement at the Atkinson Foundation, where she advances work that builds movement power for decent work. Throughout her
career across philanthropy, public policy, and urban innovation, she has designed and run collaborative initiatives that bring together diverse partners to address complex social and
economic challenges.

Previously, Selena held leadership roles at the Future Skills Centre and the Canadian Urban Institute and earlier worked at United Way Greater Toronto and the University of Toronto’s
Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance. She has also worked alongside migrant
workers in Ontario and led a youth-driven international development organization.

A proud first-generation Chinese Canadian, Selena believes that communities know best what
they need; that no single sector holds a monopoly on solutions; and that our duty as professionals and as people is to prioritize (un)learning and practice humility in service of
community-based power and joy.
