Suzanne Faiza is an urban planner and community finance practitioner and researcher based in Montreal, Canada. As Policy and Research Manager at Tapestry Community Capital, she works on Tapestry’s policy advocacy, education and research to better to strengthen retail-focused community-driven finance models, such as community bonds. Suzanne holds a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto, specializing in Housing and Community Economic Development. Her research focused on strategies to enhance urban and rural opportunities, particularly for communities seeking to advance local ownership and prosperity. Suzanne has explored funding models such as crowdfunding, community bonds, ethical investments, and shared ownership structures like community land trusts. Before transitioning into community finance, Suzanne earned an Honours degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Waterloo and worked for five years as an Architectural Designer.
