Wes Regan

Wes Regan, is a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning and a Research Assistant with the University of Victoria’s ACET (Accelerating Community Energy Transformation) initiative. His academic work examines how digital mis/disinformation is straining relationships between publics, governments, and professional expertise in democracies, with a focus on urban planning and policymaking. Bringing fifteen-years of professional experience spanning multiple levels of government in such sectors as public health, local economic development, planning, and social policy, Wes’ research is intensely practice focused, with attention to public communication and engagement regarding contentious policy realms.
