Andrew (Andy) Hoffman is the Holcim (US) Professor of Sustainable Enterprise at the University of Michigan; a position that holds joint appointments in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability. His 30 years of work examines how institutions and cultures change with a specific focus on sustainability, the natural environment, and climate change. He has published over one-hundred articles/book chapters and nineteen books, which have been translated into six languages. His most recent book – Business School and the Noble Purpose of the Market (Stanford, 2025) – calls for major reforms in business education to address the challenges of the 21st century world. His work has been covered in numerous media outlets, including the New York Times, Scientific American, Time, the Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, The Atlantic and National Public Radio.
