Dr. Veronica McKinney is a Cree woman whose family originates from northwest Saskatchewan. Raised in her traditional culture, she is now the Director of Northern Medical Services. In this role, she provides medical care to approximately half of the northern geographical area of Saskatchewan, where the majority of the population is Indigenous.

She provides leadership in health development, teaches, conducts research, and works with numerous rural and remote communities, various health organizations, Bands, and Tribal Councils. Dr. McKinney continues to practice Family Medicine and is the proud mother of two teenage boys.
